What comes standard with Digital Workspace

Microsoft 365 Admin Center Deployment Word · Excel · PowerPoint · Outlook Single Sign-On via Microsoft Entra Light & Dark Mode 200+ Engineering Calculators

What the status quo actually costs you

None of this shows up on a P&L. All of it shows up in your margin.

This is what running on individual memory instead of a shared system actually looks like, day to day. None of it is hypothetical — it's the version of "normal" most technical firms have simply stopped noticing.

Director feels this

The one engineer who remembers "the real formula" retires, changes firms, or takes a two-week vacation — and the answer walks out the door with them.

Engineer feels this

A number gets fat-fingered into a rushed, one-off spreadsheet at 6pm, and it makes it all the way into a signed, stamped report before anyone catches it.

Director feels this

Two engineers give the same client two different answers on the same job, because they were each working from a different "final" version of the same master file.

Owner feels this

A proposal goes out with last quarter's pricing because someone copy-pasted from an old deck the night before it was due.

Engineer feels this

A transmittal goes out to the client with the wrong revision attached, because a person attached it from memory instead of the system attaching the right one automatically.

The only real question is whether the next one of these costs you a redo, a client, or a very uncomfortable phone call.

Built for everyone who has to answer for the work

Three different people. Three different reasons this matters.

Nobody buys engineering software for one reason. Here's what each person in the approval chain actually gets out of it.

For the person doing the work

The Engineer

You didn't spend years earning your license to fight with header formatting or dig through last year's project folder for a formula you know you've used before. Every calculator is cited to the standard it came from — you're not guessing anymore, you're confirming. Every document you open starts from the version of "correct" the firm already agreed on.

For the person who signs off without checking every line

The Engineering Director

Right now, "quality" depends on which engineer happened to touch the file. Standardize it once — templates, revision rules, the compliance check — and every engineer on the team ships work that looks and holds up the same way, not just your best one. You stop finding out about a problem in a client meeting.

For the person whose name is on the liability

The Business Owner

Every hour spent reformatting a proposal is an hour that didn't get billed to engineering. Every inconsistent, unreviewed document that ships is sitting in a file somewhere, waiting to become Exhibit A if something goes wrong. This isn't a nice-to-have productivity tool — it's the plumbing your margin and your risk exposure both run through, whether you've priced that in yet or not.

The engineering library

Not a spreadsheet template. A reference library engineers actually trust.

Every formula is cited to the standard it came from. Every lookup table matches the values your senior engineers already check by hand — now on tap in Excel, for the whole team, not just the one person who remembers where the old file is.

Getting started

From first call to fully deployed, in four steps.

Digital Workspace already exists — getting your team onto it is an onboarding process, not a development project.

1

Fit call

A short conversation about which apps your team lives in and where templates, calculations, and approvals slow you down today.

2

Pilot & template review

We review your house style and standards during onboarding so your cover pages, calculators, and correspondence blocks feel like they were always yours.

3

Centralized deployment

We deploy through the Microsoft 365 admin center, so the add-ins simply appear in the ribbon for every licensed user — nothing for staff to install.

4

Support as you grow

Guided onboarding, priority support tiers, and quarterly business reviews on Enterprise plans as your standards evolve.

Why it's built this way

The problem in most engineering teams isn't a missing feature. It's four disconnected habits.

Digital Workspace was designed around a specific, recognizable pattern in engineering and technical organizations — not a generic productivity pitch.

Engineer working on a PLC rack

The familiar problem

  • Engineers re-derive the same standard calculations by hand, or hunt through old files for the last time someone did it right.
  • Every proposal and technical report starts from a blank slide or blank page, with formatting and structure that varies person to person.
  • Sending a finished deliverable to a client means manually drafting a cover email and hoping the right revision is attached.

What Digital Workspace does instead

  • Document control in Word — templates, automatic revision history, and a live compliance dashboard before anything is published.
  • An engineering reference library in Excel with 200+ calculators and lookup tables across 13 disciplines, insertable straight into a worksheet.
  • A guided proposal-and-report builder in PowerPoint that assembles a fully branded deck from a chosen type and set of sections.
  • A document-aware transmittal tool in Outlook that turns a published report into a correctly formatted client email in one click.

Digital Workspace is a licensed, off-the-shelf product — the same four add-ins for every customer, with your own templates and branding applied during onboarding.

What goes into every build

Capability, not just a pretty task pane.

Your templates, not a generic one

Cover pages, headers, footers, approval pages, and document types built around how your organization already labels and structures work.

Your calculations, always current

Formulas, lookup tables, and reference standards live in the add-in itself, so everyone works from the same version instead of an email attachment.

Guided, not blank-page

Wizards and step-by-step builders mean junior staff produce senior-level, on-brand deliverables from day one.

Auditable by design

Revision history, controlled/uncontrolled copy stamping, and compliance scoring are built in from the start — not bolted on later.

Why trust us with your documents

Small, independent, and deliberately boring about your data.

We'd rather tell you plainly how this works than ask you to take it on faith.

Your documents never leave your tenant

Digital Workspace acts on the Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook item you already have open, inside your own Microsoft 365 tenant. We don't copy your documents to servers we operate, and we don't keep a database of your document content. See our Privacy Policy for the specifics.

Built by engineers, not just software people

SynthoSoft is a product of SynthoCore Automation Inc., a small Ontario, Canada-based automation engineering company with 20+ years of hands-on PLC, HMI, and SCADA work behind it — not a division of a larger vendor. One product, priced plainly on this page, with no bait-and-switch quote process.

Reference tools, not a replacement for your stamp

Every calculator and template is a productivity aid built to match your own standards — not a substitute for engineering judgment. Final review and sign-off is always yours; we say so directly in our Terms, not just in fine print no one reads.

Built on Microsoft's own Add-in platform

No third-party plugin marketplace and no browser extension with broad permissions — Digital Workspace is built and deployed the way Microsoft documents for enterprise Office Add-ins, including single sign-on via Microsoft Entra.

Individual & Corporate pricing

Two ways to buy. Neither one needs a license key.

Questions

Before you ask, here's the short version.

Do my employees have to install anything?

No. Add-ins are deployed centrally through the Microsoft 365 admin center, so they simply appear in the ribbon the next time someone opens the app — nothing to download or install on individual machines.

Does this replace our existing systems (ERP, PLM, document management)?

Usually not — it sits on top of and connects into what you already have, most commonly SharePoint, rather than asking you to move data into a new system.

Where are my documents processed — do you see or store them?

Nowhere but your own Microsoft 365 tenant. Digital Workspace acts on the document you already have open — for example, applying a template or inserting a calculator result — during your active session. We don't copy your documents to servers we operate, and we don't hold a database of your Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook content. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail on the limited account and diagnostic information we do collect.

How many engineering calculators are included?

Over 200 calculators, lookup tables, and reference standards across 13 engineering disciplines — electrical, mechanical, robotics, controls, networking, safety, fluid power, and more — built directly into Excel.

How long does onboarding take?

Individual: minutes — subscribe, then sign in with your Microsoft account inside the add-in and you're unlocked immediately. No license key, nothing to activate separately. Corporate: usually a few business days — your IT admin buys through Microsoft AppSource, assigns seats in the M365 admin center, and employees are signed in automatically the first time they open the add-in.

What version of Microsoft 365 / Office do I need?

Digital Workspace is built on Microsoft's official Office Add-in platform, which requires a Microsoft 365 (subscription) plan for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook — on Windows, Mac, or the web. If your organization is still running an older, perpetually-licensed copy of Office (bought outright rather than subscribed), email us before you buy and we'll confirm compatibility.

Do we own the software, or is it licensed?

It's licensed, and access is tied to your Microsoft sign-in rather than a key you have to manage. Individual subscriptions are self-serve, month-to-month or annual, managed through your Paddle customer portal (linked from inside the add-in once you're signed in) — cancel any time. Corporate subscriptions are seat-based, billed on your Microsoft invoice, and assigned by your IT admin in the M365 admin center; no end user ever sees a license key or types anything in. Your documents, templates, and data always stay in your own Microsoft 365 tenant.

What happens if a payment fails or a subscription lapses?

For individual subscribers, Paddle automatically retries failed payments (dunning) and emails the billing contact. For corporate customers, Microsoft handles billing and dunning on your regular invoice. Either way, if a subscription ultimately lapses, the add-ins show a clear "renew access" message and stop functioning until it's reactivated — there's no silent data loss, and your documents remain fully yours in your own Microsoft 365 tenant.

Your best engineer already knows all of this is a problem. Ask them.

Tell us what's eating your team's time — we'll tell you honestly whether Digital Workspace is the right fit, not sell you on the idea that it has to be.
